2025 UTSA Summer Band Institute Ensemble Auditions

Hello SBI campers! Auditions for the 2025 Summer Band Institute will be held virtually. This will allow all campers the opportunity to showcase their talents by submitting the best possible recording of themselves. Linked below are copies of each instrument's audition music for your viewing. These auditions will be required for all campers for proper ensemble placement.

It should be noted that all campers (middle school and high school) will audition from the same music. All campers at minimum, should perform the first 8 measures listed in the audition excerpts. More advanced middle school students and high school students will want to perform as many measures listed on the page as they can complete successfully.Campers who perform more audition materials successfully will have a higher chance of being placed in a higher ensemble / chair seating. It is encouraged, but not required that all campers use an audible metronome while performing their audition.

All auditions will need to be submitted virtually using the video upload link below. You will notice there are two options for uploading your audition - a direct file upload and the option to paste a YouTube link to your audition video. It is preferred that all campers try to upload their video file directly. If choosing the YouTube link option, please ensure that your share settings are set to “unlisted” and that SBI staff will have access to your video audition. If for any reason you are having difficulties submitting your video through the link below, you may email a copy of your audition directly to utsasbi@gmail.com

When recording your audition please follow the following steps:

Start video recording - the most important step!
State your name and your current grade - we should be able to see the campers face in the video to verify the authenticity of the audition.
Play through the audition excerpts.
Upload your video by using the “Submit Audition Here” link.

The deadline to submit your campers audition will be Friday, June 13th by 11:59pm
